Between the 5th October and 15th November 2015, Dr David Turner is running a wholly on-line
learning for pleasure course entitled "The Development and Impact of Britain’s Railways
(1825-1914)" through the University of York's Centre for Lifelong Learning. This six-week
course explores how the railway network grew and altered Britain's society and economy. It
also encompasses the development of railway management and railway employment. The cost of the
